Merit Badge Events

Central Indiana Merit Badge events are class sessions at which Boy Scouts may earn one or more merit badges. The events are held in Greenfield, Indiana, which is easily reached via exit 104 of I-70. Exit 104 is 14 miles east of the I-465 bypass around Indianapolis.  Events are organized by Troop 233 of Bradley United Methodist Church.

At left is one of two "Mountains of Food" collected by Scouts and brought to the 2012 MBU.  Both "mountains" were boxed up and donated to the Hancock County Food Pantry.

11th Annual

Central Indiana Merit Badge University

    The 11th annual Central Indiana Merit Badge University program will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019.  NOTE:  Online registration for this event will open during mid- to late September, 2019.  No walk-ins are accepted for this event, all attending must be pre-registered through the online registration website after it opens.  More than 50 classes are now confirmed for the event.

NOTE:  For those of you that remember we used to host both spring and fall merit badge events each year, we stopped holding the spring event due to an increasing number of conflicts with other events and decreased availability of volunteers during that time period. Thus there is not a Central Indiana merit badge event in May this year, only the fall event in November, as noted above.






We greatly appreciate the support of the Hancock County (Indiana) Tourism Commission for the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Central Indiana Merit Badge programs.  The Commission provided funding for t-shirts for all Scouts attending the events (with the logo at left on the front of the shirts), and also funding for directional signs that were placed at key intersections in Greenfield to ensure that leaders and parents easily found their way to the multiple venues used during the event.
